Watercolor
I use Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor. I only use the paints classified as lightfast and 'permanent for artists' use', meaning the colors won’t fade away and will appear the same for generations to come.Graphite
I use a mix of Castell 9000 and Pitt Graphite Matt graphite pencils of supreme artists' quality from Faber-Castell. I also use Winsor & Newton Professional Fixative Spray: this colorless spray protects pencil drawings from smudging.Paper
I work on Arches hot-pressed 300gsm/140lb watercolor paper, which is professional grade watercolor paper of the highest quality. I do occasionally use heavier weight 640gsm/300lb paper for some of my botanical paintings as well. 100% cotton composition gives the paper its natural whiteness, and its hot-pressed surface is perfectly smooth for capturing fine details. Arches watercolor paper is acid-free* and designed to last.*Acid-free means that paper won’t become yellow and fragile over time.

Losing a beloved bet is a painful and heartbreaking experience. If you’d like to commission a portrait of a pet that has passed away, I understand that you may not have high-quality photographs so don’t hesitate to contact me: I will do my best to create a lovely tribute of your pet.
-
This varies a lot from portrait to portrait, its size and materials used but it can take anywhere from 3 days to 4 weeks to complete one.
In addition to this, I also have a waitlist for commissioned pieces which is managed on a first-come/first-served basis so it may take anywhere from a week to 6 months before I start working on your commissioned portrait.
At the time of booking, I will provide an estimated completion date; however, while every effort will be made to meet that time frame, please note it is rather a rough estimation.
For specific dates (e.g. birthday, Christmas), I will try my best to accommodate any special requests.
-
Once you’ve decided on the type of pet portrait you would like (medium: watercolor or graphite, size), please get in touch with me via my contact form.
To secure a spot on my waiting list, I will have to approve your photographs first, and receive a non-refundable €50 deposit (the €50 deposit will go towards your portrait). The remaining balance, as well as shipping charges, are due before the painting ships out.
To ensure your full satisfaction, I will email you a photo of the finished portrait for your final approval. If you do not approve the finished portrait, please rest assured that you will not be charged, and the portrait remains the property of Liz Salla.
Payments can be made via my website shop, PayPal or bank transfer.

When commissioning a bespoke pet portrait, shipping will be invoiced after the portrait is finished and approved by the client.

Returning an Original Painting:
The Buyer (Collector) has a period of fourteen (14) calendar days, starting on the delivery date, to cancel their purchase, without having to provide justification. In order to start a return process, please request a return via the contact form or contact us by email at the following address: hello@lsfineart.com. Once you’ve submitted your return request, keep an eye on your email for next steps. When your return is accepted, you will be sent further instructions and a return address. We inform our Collectors that, in accordance with the provisions of Articles L. 221-18 to L. 221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised if the artwork shows one or several signs of damage, making it unsuitable for future sale. Therefore, to qualify for a return, artwork must be in its original condition without any signs of damage, in its original undamaged packaging (polypropylene bag or glassine paper, certificate of authenticity). The Collector is liable for return shipping costs. These shipping costs are non-refundable. The Collector is also responsible for ensuring that any returned artwork is packaged securely. We are not able to cover lost, stolen or missing packages, so all returns must be sent tracked and must require a signature for delivery.
Once your return is received, we will inspect the artwork to ensure that it is in the same condition as when it was shipped. If the artwork is in the same condition, we will issue a refund to your original method of payment. A charge for initial shipping costs will be deducted from your refund. Refunds may take up to 10 business days to appear on your account. We reserve the right to deny your refund if the artwork returned does not meet the return policy requirements as stated above.

The artwork is packaged with care so it is highly unlikely that your order arrives damaged. However, if your artwork does arrive in an unsatisfactory condition, it should be reported within 48 hours of the original delivery date. Please get in touch via our contact form or email us at hello@lsfineart.com.
Please make sure to attach digital images of the damage. We will arrange a refund upon receiving the returned damaged artwork, or create a new identical artwork at no extra charge.
